Your denture questions answered

Dentures have two primary components: teeth and gums. Typically, full mouth dentures are made of specialized resins for your denture base (known as your gums), customizable acrylic teeth and metal (for partial dentures).

At Aspen Dental, we know being without your smile is uncomfortable. That’s why we create our full dentures in our onsite labs, so you save time and money when creating new dentures or repairing them.

Dentures are classified by the arch of teeth they are replacing. But what is an arch? Whether referring to your upper jaw or lower jaw, your teeth are aligned in a single curved row following the shape of your mouth, known as an arch. When talking about dentures, each denture is created as a single arch and are referred to as either an upper or lower arch. If you are looking to replace both your upper and lower teeth, you will need to be fitted for two denture arches. If you are missing only your lower or upper teeth, a single arch will work for you.

A removable smile solution that’s customized by your Aspen Dental Denture experts for your unique smile, partial dentures are prosthetics that replace partial tooth loss for multiple teeth so you get a seamless fit between your natural teeth. They consist of artificial teeth attached to a gum-colored plastic or metal framework. Partial dentures are custom-made to fit your mouth so they’re supported by your remaining natural teeth or dental implants and they restore the look and functionality of your smile.

A popular smile replacement solution for total tooth loss, full dentures are removable dental appliances or prosthetics made by your Aspen Dental Denture Experts to replace a complete upper or lower arch of missing teeth (or both). Dentures restore your smile’s appearance, functionality and ability to chew and speak so you smile easy again. Custom-made to fit your smile in our onsite labs, our dentures are composed of artificial teeth set in a gum-colored acrylic base, with options to personalize your smile further based on the denture package you select.

Permanent dentures can refer to many different types of dentures, such as implant dentures, full-fixed dentures that aren’t removable or simply the final denture you reline or receive at the end of your denture journey. At Aspen Dental, when we talk about permanent dentures, we’re referring to our implant denture solution which is a fully removable denture that replaces missing teeth with a precise, custom-fitted Comfilytes℠ denture. The Comfilytes denture snaps onto dental implants, providing a secure-fitting and long-term solution if you need to replace an entire row of teeth or require a full mouth restoration.

Snap-on dentures, also known as implant dentures, are removable dental prosthetics that attach to dental implants placed your jawbone. The dentures "snap" onto the implants, providing an even more secure and stable fit. This increases your comfort, speech and chewing ability compared to traditional dentures.
